Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has reportedly received a threatening audio message from a person claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The sender allegedly demanded crores of rupees from the actor, making him the latest film personality to face an extortion threat in the name of the gang.

According to reports, the audio clip is currently being examined by the police. Investigators are trying to establish the identity of the person who sent it and verify the claims made in the message. They are also comparing the voice in the recording with samples available in police records to determine whether it matches that of the individual the sender claims to be.

It is not yet clear whether the threat is linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang or whether someone is using its name to intimidate the actor. The investigation is ongoing.

Tusshar Kapoor also receives Rs 5 crore extortion threat

The development comes just days after actor Tusshar Kapoor reportedly received an extortion threat from a person claiming to be Harry Boxer, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller demanded Rs 5 crore from the actor.

Tusshar approached the Mumbai Police, following which the matter was taken up by the Crime Branch and its Anti-Extortion Cell. The police examined the threatening audio and compared the caller's voice with official samples of Harry Boxer available in their records.

The preliminary analysis reportedly found no match between the two voices. Investigators suspect that an unidentified person may have impersonated the alleged gang member and invoked the Bishnoi gang's name to extort money. Police are now attempting to trace the sender. No FIR had been registered at the time of the latest reports.

Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty among other celebrities threatened

Several other names from the film industry have also figured in reports of threats allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

In February 2026, actor Ranveer Singh's manager reportedly received an audio message from a person claiming to be Harry Boxer, demanding more than Rs 10 crore.

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty also received a threatening message around the same period. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch investigated the messages.

In January 2026, singer B Praak also received an alleged extortion threat demanding Rs 10 crore. The message was reportedly sent to his close aide, singer Dilnoor, by a person identifying himself as Arju Bishnoi, an alleged associate of the gang. The Punjab Police registered a case and began an investigation.
