ARMYs react: Ishaan Khatter lights up Miss World stage with BTS hit ‘MIC Drop’ | WATCH

Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter stunned global audiences at the Miss World 2025 grand finale with an electrifying performance that included a high-energy dance number to BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan)’ global hit “MIC Drop.” The star-studded event, saw Khatter bring his signature flair to the stage. Ishaan took center stage with a setlist that also featured the Oscar-winning Telugu song “Naatu Naatu” from *RRR*. However, it was his performance on the BTS track that sent social media into a frenzy, dominating timelines with both enthusiastic applause and skeptical comments.
While many were thrilled to see a Bollywood star embrace K-pop on an international platform, not everyone was impressed. Some users voiced their disappointment over changes in choreography and execution. One user commented, “Sorry but I don’t like the moves,” while another asked, “Great, but why did they change the choreography?” A more critical post read, “He could’ve at least tried to do it justice.”
Still, the performance found strong support online. Fans praised his energy and song choice, with one admirer writing, “From screen to stage, Ishaan is proving he’s a performer in every sense. That was iconic.” Another added, “Wait WHAT?! Ishaan Khatter just owned the MIC Drop stage. That was pure fire!”
BTS’ dedicated fanbase, known as ARMY, also chimed in with mixed but mostly positive reactions. With June marking a major month for BTS, as all seven members are set to return from mandatory military service, the timing couldn’t have been more fitting. “Is he an ARMY?” one fan asked excitedly, while another exclaimed, “Very cool!! Great timing too as it’s BTS MONTH!!” Another fan expressed gratitude: “Wow?!??? Thank you Ishaan Khatter for covering a BTS song!”
As for BTS, the group is on the brink of a full reunion. After Jin and J-Hope completed their service in 2024, V and RM are due to finish on June 10th, followed by Jimin and Jungkook. Suga, who is serving a longer 21-month term due to a past shoulder injury, will be the final member to return, reuniting the globally loved septet for the first time since 2022.
The night wasn’t only about entertainment; Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 at the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant on Saturday. The winner was crowned by Miss World 2024 Krystyna Pyszková.
