Bengaluru: The makers of the upcoming pan-India film KD: The Devil find themselves in the eye of a social media storm following the release of their latest track, ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’. Featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, the song has ignited a fierce debate over "obscenity" in commercial music, with even industry peers like Armaan Malik calling out the track’s lyrical content.

Despite Nora Fatehi’s signature high-octane choreography, the focus has shifted entirely to the song's suggestive double entendres, which many netizens have labelled as "vulgar" and "distasteful."

Armaan Malik reacts: “Commercial Songwriting Hits a New Low”

Acclaimed singer Armaan Malik took to X to express his shock after the song went viral. His posts quickly garnered thousands of likes, reflecting the general sentiment of a section of the audience.

“This showed up on my timeline and I had to replay it just to make sure I heard it right. Sad to see commercial songwriting hit a new low..,” Malik tweeted. He later added, “I am genuinely at a loss for words. Wish I could unhear it.”

The song, sung by Mangli with music by Arjun Janya, contains lyrics penned by Raqeeb Alam that use graphic metaphors. While the verses later reveal the description is intended for a drink and a bottle, the heavy use of sexual innuendos has not sat well with the public.

Social media platforms, particularly YouTube and X, have been flooded with negative reviews. Fans of the Kannada film industry have expressed disappointment in director Prem, who is often hailed as a "showman."

Comments like "Ashleelta (vulgarity) at its peak" and "It is 2026, why are we still producing such content?" have dominated the song's official lyrical video.

Many fans expressed shock seeing a veteran like Sanjay Dutt associated with the track, with one user noting, "Didn't expect this from Sanju Baba after his recent powerful roles."

The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on April 30, 2026.
