AMMA launches internal probe in memory card controversy

Kochi: The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has formed a five-member commission to collect evidence in the ongoing memory card controversy, according to media reports. The panel comprises Shwetha Menon, Joy Mathew, Devan, Sreelatha Namboothiri and Sreelatha Parameswaran. Actresses involved in the controversy are being summoned to provide statements.
The committee, established on August 21 to conduct an internal investigation, has been tasked with submitting a report within 60 days.
The primary focus of AMMA’s recent meeting was to restore the organisation’s reputation, which has been affected by recent controversies. Members also discussed calls to reintegrate those who had left the association amid disputes. The memory card issue, linked to Kukku Parameswaran, and factionalism within AMMA were key points of discussion. Following the meeting, AMMA President Shwetha Menon clarified her position and announced the formation of the five-member investigation committee.
