Bison, the upcoming sports drama directed by Mari Selvaraj and starring Dhruv Vikram in the lead role, is set to hit theatres on October 17, coinciding with the Diwali celebrations. During the film’s pre-release event, Dhruv delivered an emotional speech reflecting on his family, personal struggles, and admiration for his father, actor Vikram.

Speaking about his father, Dhruv said, “Every time I see Appa (Vikram) putting his all into every role, I think about how I can't even manage a fraction of what he does. I don’t know what I did to deserve being born as his son. But as long as I have the honour of being his son, I will continue to work hard. Thank you for everything, Appas Chiyaan...”

The young actor also shared heartfelt memories of his mother and sister. He revealed that as a child, his biggest dream was to make his mother proud through academic excellence — a goal he feels he could not fully achieve. “She was always a little disappointed about that. But now, through this film, I hope I’ve made her proud,” he said. Dhruv added that his sister’s pride in him is equally special.

He also mentioned his niece Arya, who was born around the time Bison began filming and has now turned five. “It’s a joy that even she can share in,” Dhruv remarked.

Bison is a sports drama centred around the sport of kabaddi, with Dhruv playing the role of a kabaddi player. The film features Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead, with Malayalam actors Rajisha Vijayan and Lal in prominent roles, alongside Pasupathy in another key part.

With its inspiring storyline and Dhruv’s emotionally charged performance, Bison is one of the most anticipated Tamil releases this festive season.
