‘Most unexpected things happen...’: Producers break silence on Akhanda 2 delay

The makers of Akhanda 2: Thaandavam have apologised to fans after postponing the film’s theatrical release, promising that a new date will be announced shortly.
Production house 14 Reels Plus issued a fresh statement on Friday, a day after confirming that the Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer would not release on December 5 as planned due to “unavoidable circumstances.”
In their latest post on X, the team wrote, “We've tried our absolute best to bring #Akhanda2 to the big screens, but despite our tireless efforts, sometimes, the most unexpected things happen, and unfortunately, this is that time. We sincerely apologise to all the fans and cinema lovers across the world who have been eagerly waiting for the film with so much anticipation (sic).”
They added, “We are forever grateful to our dearest 'God of Masses' #NandamuriBalakrishna Garu and #BoyapatiSreenu Garu for standing by us during this challenging moment. AKHANDA-2 WILL HIT THE BULLSEYE WHENEVER IT ARRIVES…COMING VERY SOON WITH A NEW DATE (sic).”
The sequel has already gained massive buzz, especially after its latest teaser showed India’s enemies plotting to weaken the nation, followed by Balakrishna in a fierce sadhu avatar, declaring,
“Where there is a bad, parallely, there is a God! Be brave.”
The teaser hints at a divine-powered protagonist battling black-magic forces and anti-national threats, backed by high-intensity action sequences.
Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri, the film has been cleared with a U/A certificate by the Censor Board.
