Actress clarifies allegation against Jayasurya: 'He touched me, but no...'

Thiruvananthapuram: The actress who recently filed a harassment complaint against actor Jayasurya has clarified that while the actor did touch her without consent, there was no sexual assault involved.
Following the release of the Hema Committee Report, the actress alleged harassment by actor Jayasurya at a movie location in Todupuzha. However, she has since clarified her earlier accusation after widespread criticism directed at Jayasurya.
Speaking at a press conference, she alleged that Jayasurya only touched her and did not physically abuse her during the filming of the movie Pigman, directed by Avira Rebecca.
"I am accusing a great man, so the onus is on me to prove it. In 2013, Jayasurya hugged me from behind on the sets of Pigman directed by Avira Rebecca. When I cried, Jayasurya said sorry. He said that he would not do that again and that they might be friends. He has not bothered me since. Jayasurya came to a social work event and took a photo with my son. He has done many things for the needy. I do respect such individuals. However, it doesn't mean that I could forget the incident that happened that day,” she said in a press conference.
The actress also responded to speculation about her motives, saying she had heard rumours that organisations like AMMA and FEFKA were affected by her actions. She clarified, however, that she is not a member of either association and intended only to reveal the truth.
The actress added that it was her children who encouraged her to reveal the accused's name, adding that her actions were not driven by a desire for publicity or money.
