Priyanka Chopra reveals the story behind her first diamond purchase and what it meant to her

Early in her career, using the signing amount from one of her initial film projects, she invested in a two-carat diamond. Her mother, Madhu Chopra, viewed this as a symbolic moment of womanhood, marking the beginning of Priyanka’s independent journey into the world of luxury jewellery.

When discussing her approach to selecting jewellery for red carpet events versus movie premieres, Priyanka explained that her choices are driven by the jewellery itself or the outfit it complements. The focus is always on what she wishes to communicate through her look, rather than treating premieres differently from other red carpet appearances.

Most recently, at the 2023 Met Gala, she showcased a stunning Bvlgari necklace featuring the rare 11.16-carat pear-shaped blue diamond, Laguna Blu, delivering an effortlessly perfect look.

At the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, she paired a sparkling Chopard diamond necklace and matching earrings with a white tulle gown, creating one of the year’s most talked-about ensembles.
