'30 radiations, 5 chemo...' Actor Maniyanpilla Raju reveals battle with cancer

Actor Maniyanpilla Raju’s recent reunion with Mohanlal in the film ‘Thudarum’ has received an excellent response, with the movie continuing to be screened in theatres with packed audiences. Amidst the success, Maniyanpilla Raju has come forward to reveal that he is a cancer survivor.
Actor opens up about his cancer battle
The actor disclosed his health condition during a public event held in Kochi. He revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer and had lost up to 16 kgs during his treatment. He confirmed that all his medical treatments were completed by September last year.
"I was diagnosed with cancer last year. When I returned from the movie ‘Bha. Bha. Ba…,’ I experienced an earache. When the MRI was done, we found out about the cancer, at the very end of the throat, under the tongue... I had 30 radiations and five chemo. All the treatment was completed by September. There is no medications, but I have lost 16 kg. There is no other problem," said Maniyanpilla Raju.
Earlier, Maniyanpilla Raju's change in appearance had led to much discussion. Rumours circulated suggesting that the star had even lost his voice and was facing serious health issues.
