Actor Dhanush Raj alleges physical assault, threats in complaint against wife

Kannada actor Dhanush Raj has approached police in Bengaluru, filing a complaint against his wife Arshita, accusing her of physical assault, harassment, and threatening his life, NDTV reported.

The First Information Report (FIR) was registered at Girinagar Police Station on January 7, and the authorities have initiated an investigation.

According to the complaint, Dhanush alleged that Arshita travelled abroad without properly informing him, and when he questioned her about the trip, she reacted violently. He claims she physically assaulted him and issued threats, including threatening to send goons to beat him up or even kill him.

The FIR further states that his wife allegedly injured herself by deliberately hitting her hand against a glass panel in their bathroom. Dhanush’s complaint asserts that she then threatened to commit suicide while portraying him as the person responsible for her injuries.

In his statement to the police, the actor said that the continuous harassment and repeated threats left him with no option but to seek protection and legal action. Police officials have confirmed the FIR has been filed and that the matter is under investigation.

Meanwhile, authorities have also registered a counter-complaint filed by Arshita against Dhanush at the same police station. In her complaint, she has accused the actor of dowry harassment, physical assault, and emotional abuse, leading to the filing of a separate FIR.
