28th IFFK Closing Ceremony: Prakash Raj will be the Chief Guest

Thiruvananthapuram: The 28th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala, IFFK, is scheduled to conclude on Friday. The closing ceremony, which will take place at the Nishagandhi Theatre, will feature prominent actor Prakash Raj as the chief guest. 

At the function, renowned Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi will be honoured with the ‘Life Time Achievement’ award. On the final day, 15 films are screened at 15 theatres.

The closing ceremony will begin at 6 PM. Several awards, including the FIPRESCI Award for the Best Competition Film and the Best Debut Malayalam Director, the NETPAC Award for the Best Asian Film and the Best Malayalam Film, the K R Mohanan Endowment Award, will also be presented during the occasion. 

Alejandro Simancas, Cuban ambassador to India, will be the special guest for the evening. The function will be presided over by VK Prasanth MLA.

Prior to the closing ceremony, a musical programme titled ‘Wind of Rhythm’ will be performed on stage to entertain the audience.
