Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, tragically passed away after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, but his last Snapchat posts shared a very different story just hours before his death. Payne, 31, was seen in now-deleted Snapchat Stories enjoying his time in Argentina alongside his girlfriend, influencer Kate Cassidy.

In one of the videos, Payne, looking relaxed and happy, jokingly called out his girlfriend for leaving a hat on the breakfast table. “Lovely day in Argentina,” he said with a smile, recording from the hotel’s breakfast area. He playfully muttered “children,” as a light-hearted dig at Kate, who responded by laughing. Payne then showed the picturesque view from the hotel, capturing palm trees, a blue sky, and a grassy backyard, all while sipping coffee. “Just enjoying coffee and breakfast even though it’s 1 p.m.,” he added with a chuckle. Kate chimed in during the clip, humorously pointing out that they had been sleeping in until noon each day. “We’re such losers!” she laughed.

Payne’s final story was a mirror selfie of the couple posing in swimsuits, seemingly enjoying a sunny day in Buenos Aires.

In another bittersweet moment, Payne posted a photo of the hotel with the caption, “Happy I got some time away” followed by a heart emoji. 

The incident occurred at the Casa Sur Hotel on Costa Rica Street, in Buenos Aires' trendy Palermo neighborhood, where Payne was staying. According to local police reports, the singer fell from the third floor, suffering fatal injuries. Emergency responders confirmed his death on-site.

The circumstances surrounding Payne's death remain unclear, but authorities are investigating whether alcohol or drugs were involved. In July 2023, Payne had publicly shared his struggles with alcoholism and celebrated six months of sobriety in a candid YouTube video, making this tragedy even more heartbreaking for his fans.

Payne leaves behind his 7-year-old son, Bear, whom he shared with his ex-partner Cheryl Cole. His passing has reignited discussions about the mental health challenges faced by artists, especially those who rose to fame at a young age.
