Mohanlal teams up with viral Ghetto kids for ‘Operation Ganga’ | WATCH

Actor Mohanlal's upcoming action thriller ‘Operation Ganga’ has added an international touch to its cast, with the Malayalam superstar announcing that Uganda's popular dance group, Ghetto Kids, will be part of the film. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vishnu Mohan, the project also stars Bhagyashri Borse, Arjun Rampal, R Parthiban and Adil Hussain in key roles.

Mohanlal shared the news on social media, welcoming the dance group to the film. He also posted a video featuring himself with the young performers and spoke about how their talent had caught his attention.

The actor recalled watching Ghetto Kids perform alongside global pop star Shakira at the World Cup final in the United States. Their energy and performance left a lasting impression on him, he said, making their inclusion in ‘Operation Ganga’ particularly exciting.

The film is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies.

The latest announcement comes shortly after actress Bhagyashri Borse shared an update from the film's shoot in Georgia. The actress, who plays the female lead, posted pictures with members of the team on Instagram Stories, announcing that the schedule had been completed.

Bhagyashri also expressed her admiration for Mohanlal, describing the opportunity to work alongside him as a blessing. She also spoke about learning from the veteran actor's approach to cinema during the shoot.

Previously referred to as ‘L367’, the film was later titled ‘Operation Ganga’. The title draws from India's real-life evacuation mission of the same name, launched in 2022 to bring Indian citizens, including thousands of students, home from Ukraine following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war.

Carrying the tagline A Nation's Promise, the film is expected to explore an operation involving international borders and the challenges surrounding the evacuation of Indian citizens. The project brings together a mix of Malayalam and Hindi cinema talent, with Mohanlal leading the cast.

Alongside Mohanlal and Bhagyashri Borse, Operation Ganga features Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, R Parthiban and Adil Hussain in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Vishnu Mohan, known for the devotional drama Meppadiyan.

The project also has an experienced technical crew. Cinematographer Miroslaw Kuba Brozek, known for his work on ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Pushpa 2’, is handling the visuals, while production design is by Rajeevan, whose credits include ‘GOAT’, ‘Meiyazhagan’, ‘Amaran’ and ‘Kathanar’.

Shashwat Sachdev, who composed the music for ‘Dhurandhar’, is the film's music composer.
