Mohanlal’s cop look is here! ‘Athimanoharam’ drops new Onam poster

Mohanlal is all set to return to the big screen in another promising role, this time as a police officer. The makers of ‘Athimanoharam’, produced by Ashiq Usman and directed by Tarun Moorthy, have unveiled a special poster for Onam.

The poster features Mohanlal in a police uniform, seated on a Bullet and sporting an intense look. It also confirms the film’s theatrical release date as December 24.

Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine reunite on screen

‘Athimanoharam’ follows the personal and professional life of TS Lovelajan, an ordinary police sub-inspector. The story will explore the incidents that unfold in his life, with the film promising its share of tense and emotional moments.

Meera Jasmine plays the female lead. Her reunion with Mohanlal is one of the film’s major attractions, as the two actors are coming together on screen after a considerable gap.

The project has also raised expectations because it brings Mohanlal back with Tarun Moorthy following the success of ‘Thudarum’. Their previous collaboration turned out to be a major hit, making their next film one that Malayalam cinema audiences are already watching closely.

For producer Ashiq Usman, the film marks another milestone. ‘Athimanoharam’ is the first Mohanlal-starrer to be produced under Ashiq Usman Productions.

Strong supporting cast joins Mohanlal

The film has brought together a sizeable ensemble alongside Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine. Lalu Alex, Manoj K Jayan, Jagadish, Irshad, Sudheesh, Pramod Veliyanad, Sajeevan, Sreenath Babu, Kiran Peethambaran, Viji Viswanath, Bhama Arun and Prarthana are part of the cast.

The screenplay has been written by Ratheesh Ravi, known for films including Ishq, Alappuzha Gymkhana and Maharani.

Shaji Kumar is the cinematographer. He has previously worked on several of Mohanlal’s successful films, including ‘Thudarum’. Jakes Bejoy has composed the music, while Binu Pappu serves as co-director.
