‘Whenever I hear marriage, I think of the first night’: Dhoomakethu trailer promises time-travel comedy

The trailer of Dhoomakethu, starring Sajin Gopu and Nikhila Vimal, is out, offering a glimpse into a quirky comedy built around a time-travel concept. The Malayalam film is set to release worldwide on September 25, 2026.

One of the lines drawing attention in the trailer is a candid remark about marriage and the “first night”, adding to the film’s irreverent and humorous tone.

The trailer also hints at a series of unusual situations involving time travel, while keeping much of the film’s story under wraps.

Dhoomakethu brings Sajin Gopu and Nikhila Vimal together in the lead, with Shine Tom Chacko, Ganapathi and Siddharth Bharathan also appearing in key roles.

The film is directed by Sudhi Maddison, with the screenplay written by Sonny and Manu. It is produced by Happy Hours Entertainments and A & HS Production House.

The film follows the team behind Neymar, while the production house has also been associated with Sookshmadarshini.

The film had already generated curiosity with its first-look poster, which featured underwater imagery, a visual element that stood out in Malayalam cinema.

The songs released ahead of the trailer have also been receiving attention online, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.
