‘In the most peaceful phase now’: Meera Vasudevan after announcing divorce from Vipin Puthiyankam

Actress Meera Vasudevan has officially announced her divorce from cinematographer Vipin Puthiyankam, ending their one-year marriage.
The declaration came through a candid Instagram post where the actress confirmed that she has been “single since August 2025” and is currently experiencing the “most wonderful and peaceful phase” of her life.
In her post, Meera wrote:
“I, Actress Meera Vasudevan, officially declare that I am now single since Aug 2025. I am at a most wonderful and peaceful phase of my life.”
She also added hashtags such as #focused, #blessed, and #gratitude, indicating a strong sense of personal renewal.
One-Year Marriage Ends
Meera and Vipin, who reportedly met on the sets of the Malayalam serial Kudumbavilakku, tied the knot in May 2024 in Coimbatore.
Their professional collaboration gradually turned into a relationship, culminating in marriage. Vipin, who hails from Palakkad, is known for his work behind the camera on several television serials and documentaries.
However, their marriage lasted just about a year. Following her announcement, Meera deleted all photos and videos with Vipin from her social media accounts, including wedding pictures, making the separation unmistakably clear to fans.
A Look at Her Previous Marriages
This marks Meera Vasudevan’s third divorce. Her first marriage was to Vishal Agarwal in 2005, which ended in 2010.
She then married actor John Kokken in 2012. They separated in 2016 and have a son, Ariha.
Her third marriage to Vipin Puthiyankam began in May 2024 and ended in August 2025, as confirmed now.
Career Milestones and 25 Years in the Industry
Despite personal challenges, Meera recently celebrated a significant career milestone—25 years in the film and television industry. In April, she expressed gratitude on social media for completing “25 years as an actress and artist,” calling it one of the best phases of her life both personally and professionally.
Meera has acted in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. She made her film debut in the Hindi rom-com, ‘Rules: Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula’ (2003) and earned praise for her role in the Tamil film, ‘Unnai Saranadainthen’ (2003).
Her acclaimed Malayalam debut came with Blessy’s ‘Thanmathra’ (2005), opposite Mohanlal, winning her the Ujala-Asianet Best New Face Award.
She later received honours such as the Tamil Nadu State Special Award and the Kerala State Television Award.
Her Malayalam filmography includes ‘Oruvan’ (2006), ‘Ekantham’, ‘Kaakki’ (2006), and ‘Pachamarathanalil’ (2008), while television audiences recognise her from ‘Kudumbavilakku’ (2020) and ‘Chithi 2’ (Chithi 2).
Controversy Over TV Interview
Earlier, Meera was embroiled in controversy following her appearance on John Brittas’s Malayalam chat show JB Junction.
She accused the show of twisting her words and inserting intimate scenes from her film Thanmathra without her consent to create sensationalism.
Calling the edits “misappropriated and misrepresented,” she expressed her distress, especially as her young son had watched the episode.
“When you promote something dirty about a woman, you’re not just insinuating her but insulting all women,” she wrote.
Moving Forward
With her latest announcement, Meera Vasudevan signals a fresh personal chapter, focusing on peace, career momentum, and rebuilding life after yet another high-profile separation.
