Manu Joseph

Manu Joseph was born in Kottayam, Kerala and grew up in Chennai. He currently lives in Delhi. He is a former editor of OPEN magazine and a columnist of The International New York Times and The Hindustan Times. In 2007, he received Chevening Scholarship.

His debut novel Serious Men won The Hindu Literary Prize and the PEN/Open Book Award in 2011. It was also shortlisted for Man Asian Literary Prize and Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize. His second novel ‘The Illicit Happiness of Other People’ published in 2012 is a semi-autobiographical work. It was shortlisted for the Hindu Literary Prize in 2013.  ‘Miss Laila, Armed and Dangerous’ published in 2017 is his third novel.
