What is Saudi Arabia's new Package Visa and how it works for tourists

Saudi Arabia has launched a new digital initiative called the Package Visa, designed to simplify travel to the Kingdom by integrating tourist visa applications directly into curated travel bookings through qualified travel and tourism service providers across selected international markets, ahead of a broader rollout.
The Package Visa pilot allows eligible travellers to book flights, accommodation and a Saudi tourist visa through a single, integrated process, with the option to add events, activities and other tourism experiences.
Instead of arranging travel components and visas separately, visitors can now complete everything in one step, reducing the number of interactions and making the journey from planning to arrival more seamless.
The initiative is available only through qualified travel and tourism service providers that meet clear service standards and offer 24/7 customer support, ensuring a reliable and smooth experience for visitors.
For qualified providers, the Package Visa offers a way to offer more attractive travel packages, streamline the traveller journey, and encourage longer stays and richer experiences across Saudi destinations.
Part of Saudi’s broader visa simplification push
The Package Visa builds on Saudi’s wider efforts to make visiting the country easier. Since launching the tourist e‑Visa, the Kingdom has introduced several new ways to enter, including visa on arrival and the Stopover Transit Visa.
These initiatives have supported strong tourism growth, with Saudi welcoming more than 29 million inbound visitors in 2025.
Commenting on the initiative, Saudi Minister of Tourism His Excellency Ahmed Al Khateeb said that as the tourism sector grows, the Package Visa reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to making travel simpler and more connected.
"By integrating visa issuance with travel bookings, we are simplifying the visitor journey," he said, adding that the initiative strengthens collaboration across the tourism ecosystem and supports Saudi’s position as an increasingly accessible global destination.
Aligning with Saudi’s digital tourism vision
The launch of the Package Visa pilot aligns with Saudi’s broader digital tourism strategy, which aims to adopt digital business models, integrate services and increase demand for tourism offerings.
Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), which is responsible for marketing Saudi’s destinations worldwide and developing the destination’s products through programmes, packages and business support, is a key driver behind these digital initiatives.
As Saudi continues to expand its tourism sector, the Package Visa marks another step toward making travel easier, more connected and more seamless for international visitors discovering the Kingdom, from booking flights and hotels to securing their tourist entry, all in one streamlined package.
