How to book Vande Bharat Sleeper Express tickets: Step-by-step guide

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, 2026, running between Howrah (West Bengal) and Guwahati (Assam).

Train number 27576 Kamakhya-Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper Express will begin commercial operations from January 22, while train number 27575 Howrah-Kamakhya starts from January 23.

Passengers can book tickets online via the IRCTC website or mobile apps such as Rail Connect and RailOne, or offline at Passenger Reservation System counters at railway stations.

Steps to book tickets online:

  • Create an IRCTC account (if not already registered) and log in.
  • Enter your origin, destination, travel date, and class, then click Search.
  • Select the Vande Bharat SL train and your preferred class, then click Book Now.
  • Fill in passenger details including name, age, gender, and berth preference.
  • Verify the ticket details, fare, and berth availability, then click Continue.
  • Make digital payment through the available gateways.
  • Once payment is successful, the ticket confirmation page will appear.

Important: Only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to board the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express. RAC, waitlisted, or partially confirmed tickets are not permitted.

Important train information:

All berths are available from the first day of reservation.

Minimum fare is calculated for 400 km, rounded according to railway rules.

Reservation quotas: Ladies, Divyang, Senior Citizen, Duty Pass only; no other quotas available.

Digital payment is mandatory to ensure refunds are processed within 24 hours. Counter payments will also prefer digital methods.
