Why is everyone talking about Travis Kelce's wedding Tux?

With Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding finally here, all eyes are on the details. While the venue and guest list remain closely watched, one question has become a talking point among fans: what will Travis Kelce wear when he walks down the aisle?

According to celebrity suit designer Tom Marchitelli, who has worked with the NFL star for more than a decade, Kelce's wedding look could be both timeless and deeply personal.

Could the Eras Tour inspire his wedding look?

Marchitelli believes Kelce may pay tribute to one of the couple's most memorable public moments, his surprise appearance during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour show at Wembley Stadium in London in June 2024.

For that appearance, Kelce wore an elegant white-tie outfit that quickly became one of his most talked-about looks. The designer feels it would be fitting if elements of that outfit returned on his wedding day.

"I thought that looked pretty awesome on him and white tie is the highest form of dressing for a man. I think that's an incredible look," Marchitelli said.

He suggested Kelce could revisit the style with long coattails, a top hat, a white waistcoat, white shirt and a white bow tie. To reflect Kelce's bold personality, he believes the outfit could also include patterned fabrics, diamond lapel pins, a chain wallet or even a vest chain.

A classic groom for the ceremony

Even though Kelce is known for taking fashion risks, Marchitelli expects the ceremony itself to call for something more traditional.

His prediction is a double-breasted black tuxedo with a slightly fuller fit, paired with a crisp white shirt, a black bow tie and a diamond lapel pin.

"I think he will want to give Taylor a fairytale moment for the ceremony and go more on the classic side," he said.

Kelce has often been seen wearing blue suits, but Marchitelli believes black will be the obvious choice for such an important occasion.

That said, he has not ruled out the possibility of Kelce bringing back the top hat and tails from his Eras Tour appearance, giving fans a subtle nod to a moment that became special for the couple.

Louis Vuitton is the strongest contender

When it comes to the designer behind the tuxedo, Marchitelli believes one fashion house stands above the rest. His pick is Louis Vuitton.

The reason, he says, is simple. Both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have frequently worn the luxury label during public appearances and date nights, and Kelce has been a longtime admirer of the brand.

"In my many trips to Kansas City over the years to work with him and seeing his personal closet, he's always had an affinity for the brand, both in footwear and apparel," Marchitelli told Page Six.

He believes Kelce will wear a bespoke Louis Vuitton tuxedo, pointing out that the brand usually reserves its made-to-measure tailoring for a select group of clients and major occasions.

"I think he's going to wear bespoke Louis Vuitton. That is 100% my prediction. They only do bespoke tailoring for special clientele and events," he added.

Although Tom Ford remains another possibility, Marchitelli feels Louis Vuitton would make the stronger statement, as Tom Ford has become a popular choice among many Hollywood stars.

Don't expect just one outfit

If Marchitelli's prediction is correct, the wedding guests may not see Kelce in the same outfit for very long.

He expects the athlete to embrace multiple wardrobe changes once the formal ceremony is over.

"Travis has transformed game-day entrances into his personal runway, and for his most important arrival yet into the world's most famous arena, I think we'll see his edginess come out with wardrobe changes. I expect him to be in a minimum of three outfits. I wouldn't be surprised if he changes every hour," he said.

According to the designer, the celebrations could include a dedicated ceremony outfit, a different look for the reception and another change if the couple hosts a concert-style celebration or afterparty.

"A ceremony look, a reception change, and then if there's a concert part or an afterparty, another outfit for sure," Marchitelli concluded.

No matter how many outfits Kelce wears throughout the celebrations, Marchitelli believes one will stand out above the rest. For him, the ceremony tuxedo is the image that will become part of pop culture history.

"That's the picture that's going to last forever," he said. "Whoever is lucky enough to photograph their wedding moment... it will be the most viral social media picture in history."
