Haripad: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has resumed its holiday services to Malakkapara from Haripad depot. Only the first 50 passengers who book their seats can travel to Malakkapara under this service.

The ticket rate has been fixed at Rs 600. It is the first depot in Alappuzha which began service to Malakkapara. There were passengers from three-year-old children to 80-year-old people on the first trip.

It had been two weeks since the Malakkapara service in KSRTC Superfast was announced. The officials were stunned by the response they received from the travel lovers in the initial days of the service.

The bookings for all Sundays and the second Saturdays of November and December are already filled.

Over 350 people are there in the waiting list now. Hence, the officials are planning to start new services on the working days too. The bus will pass through Athirapally viewpoint, Peringalkuthu dam, Charpa waterfalls, Anakkayam bridge, Sholayar dam, penstock and Nellikkunnu, and return to Haripad by 11 pm.

A special service to the tourist sites at Munnar is also under consideration. The tickets will be soon available for online booking. Though the tickets till December have been booked, only the tickets for the travels till November 7 have been distributed.

After booking, the ticket price is collected only before two weeks of the journey as the scheduled journey may get delayed or called off due to unforeseen weather conditions.
