Tourists flock to Munnar despite scorching heat

During the Easter break, tourist destinations in the Munnar district experienced a rise in footfall, with over 10,000 tourists visiting the area. This increase in visitors can be attributed to the consecutive holidays and the end of the exam period. Despite the scorching heat, tourists flocked to Munnar in anticipation of cooler nights in the mountainous terrains.
Major tourist attractions include Mattupetty, Kundala, Top Station, Munnar town, Hydel Park, and the Govt. botanical garden. 3500 to 5000 tourists visit the botanical garden and the Hydel park daily.
With the opening of Eravikulam National Park on Monday, the number of visitors is expected to increase further. Although the region has hotter temperatures during the day, the cold night will benefit the tourism sector.
