Tourist destinations in Idukki opens for visitors

Thodupuzha: After relaxations in Covid lockdown protocols, major tourist destinations in Idukki opened on Friday. The visitors were allowed in the tourist spots under the District Tourism Promotion Council as per the new Covid guidelines of the state government. But only a few tourists visited the place of late. 

The destinations that were opened include Idukki Hill view park, Idukki park, Mattupetti Botanical garden, Ramakkalmedu, Munnar boating centre, Panchalimedu, Vagamon meadows and Adventure park. Vaccination certificate or Covid negative certificate have to be produced while visiting the place. 

Rajamala opens on August 9

Rajamala hills, noted for the presence of Nilgiri Thars, will open from August 9. The visitors were prohibited to enter here due to Covid protocols. But the other wildlife sanctuaries including Thekkady will only open after getting permission from the Central government.
