Agasthyarkoodam trekking: Booking to open from Jan 8
Thiruvananthapuram: The annual trekking to Agasthyarkoodam peak here will be held from January 14 to 18. The officials informed that the booking for the trekking pass will commence from January 8.
Agasthyarkoodam is one of the tallest peaks (1,868 meters) in the State. It is spread across Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts in Kerala and Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. The Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve, which includes the Neyyar, Peppara and Shendurney wildlife sanctuaries, was included in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves of the UNESCO a year ago.
Maximum 100 visitors will be allowed to trek to the peak on a single day. Last year, women were allowed to visit here.
The passes will be available online and from Akshaya centres.
