Prof MGS Narayanan's unpublished poems set for release on his birthday

Kozhikode: A new book featuring 54 unpublished poems and some drawings by Prof. MGS Narayanan, renowned historian and educator, is set to be released. The poems, found by his wife Premalatha among his extensive collection of personal papers, date back to his student days.

The collection of poems include “Premam”, “Vanchana“, “Sandesam“, “Kamini“, “Grama Bhangi“, “Marichu Mama Balyam“, “Samara Prakhyapanam“, “Nithyathayude Poonthottam“, “Chinayile Chenthaaram“, and “Koythukari“. The works explore themes including politics, nature, youth, and philosophy.

The book was compiled and published after Premalatha shared the poems with her husband’s friend and book publisher, TK Sudhakaran. The foreword for the book is written by Dr Arsu, a colleague and friend of MGS.

Calicut University Vice-Chancellor Prof. P. Raveendran will officially release the book, titled ‘Marichu Mama Balyam’, on MGS Narayanan's 72nd birthday, on August 20, at his residence.
