Prize-winning stories of Mathrubhumi Vishu Edition lit contests from 1969-2020 published as book

A rare collection of the stories which won prizes in the Mathrubhumi Weekly Vishu Edition Literary Competitions from 1969 to 2020 has been published. The book, edited by writer and editor of Mathrubhumi Weekly Subhash Chandran, is an anthology of the stories penned by writers of different generations in Malayalam.

Many noted writers in Malayalam including N. S. Madhavan, N. Prabhakaran, Ashitha, D. Vinayachandran, T. V. Kochubava, C. R. Parameswaran, Subhash Chandran and K Rekha entered the world of writing through Mathrubhumi Weekly ‘Vishu’ Special Edition literary competition.

The writing competition is conducted for picking talented college students who are skilled in writing stories and poems. When the competition resumed this year after a long break, Rahul Manappatt, a student of Kozhikode Government Arts College, won first prize for short story.
