Mumbai: Reliance Foundation has opened applications for its Reliance Foundation Scholarships 2026-27, offering financial support to 5,100 first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students across India.

The announcement was made on the eve of Independence Day as part of the foundation’s efforts to support young people pursuing higher education and encourage the next generation of leaders, innovators and changemakers.

5,000 UG and 100 PG scholarships

Under the undergraduate scholarship programme, 5,000 meritorious students will be selected each year through a merit-cum-means process. The programme is open to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

The postgraduate programme will provide scholarships to 100 exceptional students pursuing future-focused fields such as Engineering, Technology, Energy and Life Sciences.

While undergraduate scholars can receive up to Rs 2 lakh, postgraduate scholars can receive up to Rs 6 lakh during the course of their programme.

More than 33,000 scholarships awarded so far

Reliance has been providing scholarships for more than three decades. In December 2022, Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita M Ambani announced a commitment to provide an additional 50,000 scholarships over 10 years.

So far, more than 33,000 scholarships have been awarded.

Last year, the 5,100 selected scholars came from 1,350 institutions across 27 states and seven Union Territories, highlighting the programme’s reach across the country.

Along with financial assistance, the Reliance Foundation Scholarships provide students with opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, networking and interaction with industry experts.

Scholars also become part of a wider community designed to help them build skills, confidence and professional networks.

How students will be selected

For undergraduate applicants, the selection process will consider an aptitude assessment along with the applicant’s financial background.

Postgraduate applicants will be assessed based on academic performance, aptitude and other selection criteria.

There is no application fee at any stage.
