Postgraduate diploma in industrial biotechnology at RCB Faridabad

Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), NCR Biotech Science Cluster, Faridabad-Gurugram Expressway, Faridabad - 121 001, an Institution of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament, established by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, under the auspices of UNESCO, has invited applications for admissions to the Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Biotechnology (PGDIB).

PGDIB aims to train students in a variety of industry-relevant courses. This course will provide students with the required knowledge and skills for producing, testing, licensing, packaging, and releasing biotech and biopharmaceutical products. The program’s goal is to prepare students for careers in industry, bridging the gap between industry and academics.

The programme will be of one academic year duration with one semester (six months) of coursework physically at RCB, Faridabad, followed by second semester comprising of hands-on training and a 3 to 4 months’ internship programme in various industries or academia.

Eligibility: Applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or Medicine or an equivalent degree with the minimum 50 % marks. Those with additional qualifications and a strong interest in the subject may also apply.

Number of seats is 30. Reservation of seats will be as per Government of India guidelines.

The fee for this programme is Rs.1.00 Lakh to be paid in instalments as follows: 1st instalment -Rs. 10000/- non-refundable, to be paid while accepting the offer (by December 2025); 2nd Instalment- Rs.45000/-, by January 2026; 3rd Instalment-Rs.45000/- by April 2026.

Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://pgdib.rcb.ac.in, latest by November 17, 2025. Application fee is Rs. 500/- (SC/ST/PwBD/EWS applicants are exempted from payment of the application fee).

Written test/interview (physical) will be during December 9-10, 2025.

Final results of selection will be declared and offers sent to selected candidates on December 15, 2025.

Deadline for selected candidates to accept offer by email and pay fees online (Rs.10000/-, non-refundable) will be December 22, 2025.

Offers will be sent to waitlisted candidates on December 26, 2025. Deadline for waitlisted candidates to accept offer by email and pay fees online (Rs.10000/-, non-refundable) will be December 29, 2025.

Registration and enrolment for those who have accepted the offer will be on January 1, 2026.

Orientation will be on January 2, 2026. Coursework also will commence on this date.

Applicants who are unable to submit their transcript/ provisional degree certificate (PDC) of the qualifying degree examination at the time of joining from the respective university/college/institution will be given 16 days from the date of commencement of the programme (till 16.01.2026). No further extension shall be given and their candidature will be treated as cancelled if they are unable to submit the transcript/ provisional degree certificate within this extended deadline.

The admission fee includes hostel accommodation (sharing basis) till completion of coursework except for the hostel maintenance charge of Rs.200/- per month and electricity bill (to be paid as per actuals).
