NIFTEE 2026 stage 1 result declared, candidates shortlisted for next round

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results for the Stage 1 examination of the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026.

NTA has been entrusted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) with the task of conducting the NIFT Entrance Examination for admissions into UG, PG, and other programs for the academic year 2026-27.

The Stage I Entrance Examination for Bachelor of Design (B.Des.), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.), Master of Design (M.Des.), Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.), Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.), and Lateral Entry Programs (B.Des. and B.F.Tech.) was conducted on 8 February 2026 (Sunday) in 129 centres located across 97 cities in India.

Depending on the program, the examinations were held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Paper-Based Test (PBT) mode.

The result of the Stage 1 examination has been declared. However, for the Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.) program, the final result will be declared separately in due course, as there is no Stage 2 examination for this program.

Shortlisting for Stage 2 comprising the Situation Test, Studio Test, and/or Personal Interview (as applicable) has been done based on candidates' performance in Stage 1 and in accordance with the approved category-wise seat matrix and shortlisting criteria laid down by the NIFT. As per the criteria, candidates have been shortlisted in the ratio of 1:4 (one seat to four candidates), category-wise. In the case of PwD candidates, the shortlisting has been done with the additional condition that they must have secured at least 50% of the cut-off marks of their respective category.

The status of each candidate is being displayed online, as applicable: (i) B.Des.: ‘Shortlisted /Not Shortlisted for Situation Test’ (ii) M.Des., M.F.M., M.F. Tech.: ‘Shortlisted /Not Shortlisted for Personal Interview’ (iii) B.Des. (NLEA): ‘Shortlisted/Not Shortlisted for Studio Test & Interview’ (iv) B.F.Tech. (NLEA): ‘Shortlisted/Not Shortlisted for Technical Ability Test (TAT) & Interview.'

The dates for Stage 2 examinations—the Situation Test, Studio Test, and/or Personal Interview will be announced separately at https://exams.nta.nic.in/niftee/ or www.nta.ac.in 

Candidates may visit https://exams.nta.nic.in/niftee/ to view and download their results using their Application Number and Password. The results for the B.F. Tech. programme will be declared separately in due course. The candidature of two candidates has been cancelled for adopting Unfair Means Practices (UFM).
