Enhance your theatre insights: National School of Drama's 2026 appreciation course details revealed

National School of Drama (NSD), an autonomous Institute under Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, New Delhi – 110001, has invited applications for admission to the Theatre Appreciation Course to be held from February 14, 2026 to February 20, 2026 to be held at the NSD Campus, New Delhi.
This course is for people who would like to gain more knowledge about how to appreciate theatre.
The course contains discussions on various aspects of theatre-making and theatre-watching, talks by theatre experts of national repute and viewing of plays. A writing workshop may also be held, but there are no other practical sessions during the course.
Applicant should be an Indian national living in India, having a minimum of 18 years of age, with working knowledge of Hindi and/or English. Those who have attended the course before are not eligible to apply.

Selection is done on the basis of the application only. Only the selected candidates will be informed by phone and email a few days before the course begins.
Selected candidates are required to pay registration fees of Rs. 5000/-, which is to be deposited online, failing which their seats will be offered to other candidates on the waiting list. Out-station candidates may also apply. No accommodation, TA/DA is provided to the participants. Candidates will be required to attend the course in person on the NSD campus on all days.
