A triple triumph of academic excellence: Three members of ‘Maths Aspirants’ community awarded PhD

In a moment of immense pride for the mathematical fraternity, three core members of the ‘Maths Aspirants’ community—Dr. Anmary Tonny, Dr. Jiya Rose Johnson, and Dr. Anand O. R.—have been awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Mathematics.
Associated with the group since their undergraduate days, the trio has transitioned from brilliant student-aspirants into full-fledged researchers, leaving an inspiring trail of academic distinctions along their journey.
A stellar legacy of rank sheets and premier institutes
The academic profiles of the newly minted doctors showcase a continuous streak of top honors at national and state levels:
Dr. Anmary Tonny:
Securing the 1st Rank in BSc Mathematics from the University of Calicut during her studies at St. Joseph's College, Irinjalakuda, she went on to clear her MSc from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) with the 1st Rank. She has now successfully completed her Ph.D. from CUSAT.
Dr. Jiya Rose Johnson:
A classmate of Anmary during her undergraduate years at St. Joseph's College, Irinjalakuda, Jiya secured the 3rd Rank in BSc from the University of Calicut. She maintained her stellar record by bagging the 2nd Rank in MSc from CUSAT and has now been awarded her Ph.D. from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras).
Dr. Anand O. R.:
After completing his BSc at UC College, Aluva, Anand cracked the highly competitive IIT JAM examination with an extraordinary All India Rank of 9 (AIR 9). He subsequently completed his MSc from IIT Bombay and has now earned his Ph.D. from IIT Madras.
Beyond their personal research commitments, all three scholars have been pillars of support for the community. They were the frontline organizers of the group's national and international webinars and proactively mentored junior members by conducting regular online classes and lead-solving the community's signature Test Series.
Empowering the next generation of Mathematicians
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Vinod Kumar P, Associate Professor of Mathematics at T M Government College, Tirur, 'Maths Aspirants' has grown into a vibrant nationwide network of mathematics students, research scholars, and faculty members.
The community operates under the continuous patronage and invaluable academic guidance of Prof. Ambat Vijayakumar, Emeritus Professor and former Head of the Department of Mathematics at CUSAT. Dr. Bijumon, Associate Professor of Mathematics at MG College, Iritty (Kannur), spearheads the technical infrastructure and digital operations of the network.
Expressing his joy, the founder-coordinator Dr. Vinod Kumar P remarked, "Watching these brilliant minds grow from eager undergraduate students into accomplished doctoral researchers has been a profoundly rewarding experience. Their dedication is a shining testament to what collaborative learning can achieve."
The entire Maths Aspirants family has extended its warmest congratulations to the new Ph.D. holders, wishing them a fulfilling and impactful future in global mathematical research and academics.
