KEAM 2023: Pay fees for option registration; engineering exam on May 17

Thiruvananthapuram: Fees will be levied for option registration from candidates who are included in the rank list of the state engineering and medical entrance (KEAM) examination.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Entrance Prospectus Reform Committee chaired by Principal Secretary of Higher Education Ishita Roy.

Currently, fee is levied for option registration under the all-India quota for medical admissions. As per the latest reforms, option registration will be charged as per course fee and this will be included in the annual fees. 

Those who do not get admission will get a refund. However, candidates who failed to join despite receiving the allotment will not be eligible for refund. Meanwhile, the token fee charged by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination will be waived.

Entrance exam for engineering and pharmacy courses in the state will be held on May 17. The examination will be held as two papers (Paper 1: Physics-Chemistry and Paper 2: Maths) in the morning and afternoon format.
