Kannur: Some information in the affidavit submitted by the Kannur University at the Kerala High Court in connection with the case challenging the appointment of Priya Varghese as the associate professor were in contradiction with the RTI information provided on the controversial incident.

When Joseph Scaria filed an RTI application at the Kannur University, he was told that his research score was 651. The research score generated by the university website was also 651. However, in the affidavit submitted by the university at the high court, Joseph was said to have only a research score of 423.5. On top of this, in the affidavit, university authorities also claimed that Joseph had personally calculated his research score to the range of 651.

The case is under the consideration of the supreme court now.

Meanwhile, Joseph Scaria criticised the Kannur University registrar for allegedly providing false affidavits in the court.
