JEE Main 2026 results: Kabir Chhillar tops with perfect 300; NTA announces AIR list

The National Testing Agency has declared the results of JEE Main 2026, with Kabir Chhillar securing All India Rank (AIR) 1 after scoring a perfect 300 out of 300.
A classroom student in Kota, Kabir has spent the past two years preparing for the highly competitive exam. Originally from Gurugram, he had also achieved a 100 percentile in the January session, underlining his consistent performance. He attributed his success to disciplined study, strong conceptual understanding, regular revision, and the support of his teachers and family.
“I focused on understanding concepts, making short notes, and revising regularly. Working hard in the right direction is most important,” he said.
Among other high achievers, Yashvardhan Kadwasra from Sri Ganganagar secured AIR 11. He relied largely on self-study combined with online coaching, dedicating around eight hours daily to preparation. He credited his result to consistency and a focused approach rather than long hours at physical coaching centres.

Yashvardhan comes from an academic family. His father, Rajendra Kumar Kadwasra, is a professor and head of the Botany department at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Government College, while his mother, Suman Kadwasra, is a school principal. His elder brother, Aditya Kadwasra, who secured AIR 54 in NEET, is currently studying at AIIMS Delhi, and served as a source of inspiration.
With the JEE Main results now out, around 2.5 lakh candidates have qualified for JEE Advanced, the next stage for admission into premier engineering institutes, including the Indian Institutes of Technology.

The agency also released data on students who achieved a 100 percentile across states and Union Territories. In 2025, a total of 24 candidates scored a perfect percentile, with Rajasthan producing the highest number of top scorers.
Rajasthan continues to show strong performance in national-level engineering entrance examinations, and qualified candidates will now shift focus to JEE Advanced in pursuit of seats at the country’s top engineering institutions.
