Coir Board invites applications for coir training courses at four centres

The Coir Board, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, has invited applications for two Coir Training Courses at four centers of the Board.

Courses, duration and Eligibility are as follows:

Six Months Certificate Course of Artisan in Coir Technology

NSQF Level 3, of 6 months’ duration + 1-month internship, to be held during February 2026 to July 2026.

Eligibility: Applicant should be able to read and write.

One-year Diploma Course in Advanced Coir Technology

NSQF Level 4 of 1-year duration + 3 months’ internship to be held from February 2026 to January 2027.

Eligibility: Pre-degree or 12th standard or equivalent passed.

For both courses, those between 18 and 50 years of age can apply.

20% of seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates. Those sponsored by the Coir Factory/Coir Co-op societies as per Coir Industry (R) Rules 2008 are given preference.

(ii) Coir Board Regional Extension Centre Thanjavur, Tamilnadu

(iii) Coir Board Regional Office Bhubaneswar, Odisha

Selected trainees will be eligible for a stipend of Rs.3000/- per month.

Free hostel facilities are available at: (i) Bhubaneswar (ii) Thanjavur (iii) Alappuzha (only for ladies). An amount of Rs.500/- per month will be reimbursed to the eligible candidates staying outside (male candidates at Alappuzha and all candidates at Rajahmundry)

The last date of receipt of application is 10.01.2026.

Applications should be accompanied by self-attested copies of certificates in support of qualifications, age and experience.

Candidates selected should produce conduct certificates obtained from two gazette officers at the time of joining. They are required to execute an agreement on plain paper in the prescribed format at the time of joining. Candidates have to submit the certificates in original, proving education qualification at the time of joining. The same will be returned to him/her only after the completion of the training course. Candidates have to submit the copy of the Aadhar card, bank account details, and two passport-size photographs also.
