Project Assistant at State Forest Development Agency Kerala Forest Department
The State Forest Development Agency, Kerala Forest Department Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for the engagement of one ‘Project Assistant’ under the Nagar Van Yojana scheme.
The Project Assistant has to mainly assist the Chairperson and Member Secretary, State Forest Development Agency (SFDA), Kerala in implementation and monitoring of various projects and activities under the Nagar Van Yojana and associated schemes. He/she is also expected to assist in the incorporation of the project and its activities in the Working Plans/ Management Plans concerned; Render technical support to the Forest Development Agencies (FDAs) in the State implementing the Nagar Van Yojana scheme; Liaison with field units for coordination and implementation of various projects under the Nagar Van Yojana scheme; assist in Formulation of new projects/implementation in field under the Nagar Van Yojana scheme; Arrange trainings/ programmes at various level under the Nagar Van Yojana scheme; Develop draft protocols, operation manuals, guidelines etc. for various activities related to Trees Outside Forests/ Urban Forestry and Eco Restoration activities; Collate and analyze data; interpret data and provide data for Working Plans; Prepare Technical Reports and presentations for SFDA; Prepare Monthly/ Quarterly/ Annual reports etc. on time to time for submission to the MoEFCC and NAEB and also undertake any other duties assigned to the person by the Member Secretary, SFDA, Kerala/ Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Eco-development & Tribal Welfare).

Qualification: Applicant should hold a Master's Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture / Forestry /Botany / Zoology / Microbiology/ Life Sciences / Natural Resource Management.
Competencies/ Desirable: Knowledge in Environment & Forestry/ Participatory Forest Management system and related subjects; Fluency in English and Malayalam (Speak/Read/Write); Work independently on Computer with knowledge of software applications like Open Office/Microsoft Office etc.; Experience to work on multiple tasks of complex projects independently; Excellent professional, organizational and communication skills.

Age: Applicant should be below 30 years of age as on 31.01.2024.

Selection: Selection will be based on Written exam to be conducted at 10.30 am on 29.02.2024 at Office of the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (E&TW), Forest Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram-695014. Interview of shortlisted candidates shall be conducted at 3 pm.
Contract shall be for a period of one year which is extendable based on performance evaluation and duration of the project. Remuneration will be Rs. 40,000/- per month (consolidated pay). For more details, Notification may be seen.
