Mumbai Port Authority invites applications for 8 Jr. Professional Intern (Mechanical) roles
Mumbai Port Authority has invited applications for engagement of Jr. Professional Interns (Mechanical) on a contract basis in the OPL Division of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department.
The total number of Jr. Professional Interns (Mechanical) to be hired will be 8.
Eligibility for Jr. Professional Interns (Mechanical):
Essential: (i) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Obtained after passing a course of not less than three years’ duration) from a recognised university or Institute (ii) One-year experience in operation/maintenance of Mechanical Systems and preferably in the petroleum industry.
Desirable: (i) 1st Class Electrical Supervisor’s Certificate of Competency issued by State Government or Union Territory or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is preferable; (ii) Prior experience in port operations or related industries (iii) One-year experience in operation/maintenance of electrical systems; (iv) Familiarity with SCADA Systems (v) Knowledge of English, Hindi and Marathi.
The crucial date for determining eligibility criteria - educational qualification, experience, etc., shall be 10.02.2026.
Preference will be given to persons with experience in the relevant field, supported by field work/ policy papers/ appraisal, and monitoring of projects & schemes.
Age Limit: Applicant should be less than 35 years of age as on the date of advertisement (21.1.2026) and should be in good health.
Soft Skills needed: (i) Eager to learn and work with various departments, (ii) Excellent verbal and written communication skills, (iii) Proficiency in Microsoft Office, (iv) Ability to multitask, (v) Cope well under pressure, (vi) Strong Data Modelling, Research, and Analytical skills.
Period of Engagement: The initial period of engagement shall be 2 years, which can be extended to an additional 2 years on the basis of performance, with no further extension. There shall be a performance review after every 6 months of engagement of the professional. The appointment of professionals will be on a full-time basis, and they will not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period of appointment as Jr. Professional Intern(Mechanical) with MbPA.
Remuneration: Consolidated amount of Rs 40,000/- per month will be paid to Jr. Professional Intern(Mechanical). There shall be annual increments of 5% on the last drawn remuneration based on satisfactory performance.
The place of posting will be the OPL Divisions of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department of Mumbai Port Authority.

Candidates will be shortlisted in light of their educational qualification, experience and other details provided in the application form. Shortlisting of candidates will be made based on percentage/grades/class obtained in educational qualification and number of years of experience.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview etc. before selection.
The selected applicants have to produce original mark sheets along with a character certificate and a self-declaration certificate at the time of joining, failing which his/her candidature shall be cancelled.
