M.Sc courses at Radiation Medicine Centre, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, has invited applications for admission to 2 training courses, each of 2 years’ duration, being conducted at Radiation Medicine Centre, BARC under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Mumbai; a Deemed to be University.
The courses are (i) M.Sc. Hospital Radiopharmacy (M.Sc. - HRP) and (ii) M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology (M.Sc. - NMMIT). For each course, there are 5 seats for Non-sponsored category and 5 for Sponsored category. One seat is reserved for SC/ST/OBC candidate either from sponsored or non-sponsored category.
Educational Qualification: For admission to M.Sc. Hospital Radiopharmacy, applicant should hold B.Sc. in any science discipline with Chemistry as one of the subjects at B.Sc. level and Physics, Chemistry and Maths / Biology as subjects at H.S.C. level or B.Pharm from a recognized University with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in Science Subjects at B.Sc./ B.Pharm level.
For admission to M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology, applicant should hold B.Sc. with 60% marks in aggregate in (i) Nuclear Medicine from AERB recognised institute or (ii) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or Biotechnology with Physics or Chemistry as one of the subjects in B.Sc from a university recognised by UGC. Correspondence course will not be considered.
Age Limit: Applicant should not be more than 35 years of age as on 1st May 2023. Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, by 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PH category and sponsored candidates.
Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://recruit.barc.gov.in/ latest by 23.59 hours on 12.11.2023. One can apply for either or both courses if he / she satisfies the eligibility criterion.
Common Admission Test (CAT): A Common Admission Test for selection for both courses will be conducted on 17.12.2023 at Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094. It will comprise of 150 Multiple Choice Questions drawn from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology of the level of Standard XII or equivalent. Minimum marks to qualify in CAT will be 50%.
Selection: A merit list of candidates qualifying the CAT will be made and candidates will be called in order of merit to attend Counseling Session. A separate merit list will be drawn for Sponsored Candidates. The date of counseling session will be notified on BARC website.
Monthly Stipend: For both courses, Non-sponsored candidates are eligible for a Stipend of Rs.15000/- per month.
Bond: Students selected for admission shall be required to execute a bond to pay ‘Bond Money’ in case they leave before completion of the course.
