Prime Ministers’ Museum invites applications for Curator and Assistant Curator roles

Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML), Teen Murti House, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has notified one position each of Curator and Assistant Curator, on a contractual/deputation basis.
For the post of Curator, the applicant should have a master's degree in history/political science/museology with at least 55% marks (or CGPA 5.5/ 10) at the master's level from a recognized university/institute. Desirable: (i) Knowledge of digital technology and ability to create content for digital platform and multimedia exhibits (ii) Ability to create content for thematic exhibitions relevant to PMS (iii) Good communication skills in English and Hindi and public relations (iv) Ability to lead a team of guides, exhibit supervisors, gallery operators, technical assistants and technicians, designers, etc. (v) Ability to coordinate with outside agencies for museum-related works.
Age should not be more than 50 years as of October 01, 2025, for those who are still in service and not more than 63 years as on October 01, 2025, for those who have superannuated from any reputed Museum/Science Centre/ Planetarium or similar institution. Age is relaxable for exceptionally meritorious candidates.
Key Responsibilities of the curator include (i) Lead curatorial and research functions across the galleries (ii) Oversee the integration and maintenance of digital museum software and IT-based exhibits (iii) Manage digital archives, exhibition design, and collections (iv) Supervise a team of researchers, technicians, and content developers (v) Coordinate public programs, thematic gallery walkthroughs, and educational outreach (vi) Prepare write-ups and new temporary exhibitions.
Remuneration will be Rs. 1,00,000/- (consolidated) per month. For the superannuated candidates, monthly emoluments will be as per Govt. of India rules.
Working professionals in museums or similar institutions, retired museum professionals, and those who are willing to come on deputation from other museums can apply.
For the post of one Assistant Curator, the applicant should have a master's degree in history/political science/museology with at least 55% marks (or CGPA 5.5/ 10) at the master's level from a recognized university/institute. Desirable: (i) Basic knowledge of Conservation of Artefacts, collection management, and digital archives; (ii) Ability to create content for digital platform and multimedia exhibits (iii) Ability to organize and coordinate outreach and educational programs (iv) Good communication skills in English and Hindi and public relations.
Key Responsibilities of the assistant curator include (i) ssist in collection management, accessioning, cataloguing, and digital documentation (ii) Support the Curator in the coordination of exhibitions, conservation activities, and educational programs (iii) Contribute to research and content development for gallery tours, temporary exhibitions, and archival enhancement (iv) Organizing outreach activities, visitor management and public relations, conducting visitor survey etc.
Age should not be more than 40 years as of October 01, 2025. Age is relaxable for exceptionally meritorious candidates.
Consolidated remuneration will be Rs. 75,000/- per month.
Working professionals in museums/cultural institutions/archives or those who are willing to come on deputation from other museums or similar institutions may apply.
Engagement will be on a deputation/contractual basis, as the case may be, for a period of 2 years and extendable up to 1 year based on performance.
Selection will be based on screening of CV followed by interview at PMML.
