Under graduate admissions at NIMHANS Bengaluru

National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), an Institute of National Importance, Hosur Road, Bengaluru -560 029, has invited online application for admissions to the Under Graduate Courses for the Academic Year 2026-27.

Courses offered and seats are as follows: (i) B.Sc. in Anesthesia Technology - 11 seats (All India Category-4, Karnataka Domicile Category- 7) (ii) B.Sc. in Nursing: 85 (All India – 35; Karnataka Domicile -50) (iii) B.Sc. in Medical Imaging Technology- 11 seats (All India-4, Karnataka Domicile-7) (iv) B.Sc. in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology- 7 seats (All India-2, Karnataka Domicile – 4, Sponsored-1)

Eligibility for admissions:

B.Sc Nursing (4 Years): Passed Pre-University examination/ Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course)/equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum 45% aggregate marks in these subjects.

B.Sc. in Medical Imaging Technology (3 years): Passed Pre-University examination/ Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course)/equivalent with English and Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as optional subjects with 45% aggregate or Job oriented Diploma course from a recognized board with Diagnostic Radiography as vocational subject

B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology (3 years): Pass in 2-year Pre-University examination or equivalent with a Science group having secured an aggregate of 45% in science subjects.

B.Sc. in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology (3 years): Pre-Degree/Pre - University/12th standard/equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects and having 45% aggregate in these subjects

A relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate will be given for applicants belonging to SC/ST category.

Age of applicant should be between 17 and 25 years as on 1.9.2026. Age is relaxable by a maximum of 5 years in the case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates and by a maximum of 3 years for OBC candidates, for the courses where the seats are reserved for them only.

Online Application Forms can be submitted at this link latest by 15.06.2026. One can apply for a maximum of 3 courses only.

Application fee is Rs. 1,000/- per course. For SC or ST Category, it is Rs. 750/- per course. Applicants belonging to PwBD Category are exempted from application fee.

Selection for all 4 B.Sc. courses will be based on a Entrance tests of 90 minutes’ duration to be conducted in Bengaluru city only on 26.7.2026. There will be one test for B.Sc. Nursing and a Common Entrance Test for the other 3 Courses. The question paper will contain 100 multiple choice objective type questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. For a wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted. Qualifying percentage in Entrance Test will be 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).

Result will be announced on 31.07.2026. Provisional Selection List for B.Sc. Courses will be published on 6.08.2026. Admission will be on 11.8.2026. Classes will commence on 1.9.2026.
