State Co-Operative Union Kerala invites applications for HDC & BM course: Apply now

State Co-Operative Union, Kerala, established by the Government of Kerala, Samsthana Sahakarana Bhavan, Oottukuzhy, Thiruvananthapuram – 695001, has invited applications for admission to the Higher Diploma in Co-Operation & Business Management (HDC & BM) for 2025–26.
The Program of 12 months’ duration, in Two Semesters of Six Months each, is conducted at 13 Co-operative Training Colleges located at (i) Kuravankonam, Thiruvananthapuram (ii) Kottarakkara, Kollam (iii) Aranmula, Pathanamthitta (iv) Cherthala, Alappuzha (v) Pala (vi) North Paravoor, Ernakulam (vii) Ayyanthole, Thrissur (viii) Palakkad (ix) Tirur, Malappuram (x) Tali, Kozhikode (xi) Nettoor, Thalassery (xii) Kanhangad, Kasargode and (xiii) Thirunakkara, Kottayam (under the management of N.S.S.)
The course is recognised by the Government of Kerala, Kerala Public Service Commission, and Co-operative Service Examination Board.
Seats are available under the general category and the employees category.
Eligibility: Applicant should hold any bachelor's degree from a university or its equivalent approved by the Government of Kerala. Those who have graduated from a university outside Kerala should submit the equivalency certificate obtained from any university in the state of Kerala.
In the case of employees, he/she shall be a full-time permanent employee. Persons who are working on daily wages, honorary service, commission agents, and apprentices are not eligible to get admission in the employee category.
In the case of employees of the Co-operative Society, a minimum service period of one year as of 01.06.2025 is also required.
Age Limit: The upper age limit is as follows: general applicant—up to 40 years, OBC up to 43 years, and SC/ST up to 45 years as of 01.06.2025. There is no age limit in the case of an applicant of the employee category.
Application: Application can be submitted online at www.scu.kerala.gov.in latest by 5 pm on 15.07.2025. The list of documents to be uploaded along with the application is given in the prospectus at the website.
Application fee is as follows: (i) General Students- Rs. 250/- (ii) SC/ST Students- Rs. 85/- (iii) Employees of cooperative societies—Rs. 350/-.
Selection: For general students and SC/ST students, selection will be made on the basis of aggregate marks/percentage of marks of candidates in subjects and languages in the qualifying examination. Grace marks will be provided for students who possess postgraduate degrees. In the case of applicants in the employees’ category, the selection will be based on the total regular-service period of employment.
The selection of students for general seats will be based on college-wise merit, and the same shall be applicable to the reservation seats. In case the required number of applications are not obtained in any college, students shall be admitted to fill those vacant seats on the state-level merit list.
Tuition Fee per semester is Rs. 10,000/-
The course of study will cover the following subjects: Co-operatives and Co-operative Administration; Principles of Management; Financial and Management Accounting; Principles and Practices of Banking; Co-operative Law and Allied Laws; Computer Applications; Functional Societies; Managerial Economics; Co-operative Accounting and Auditing; Retail and Electronic Banking etc.
During the second semester, the students have to attend a 10-day internship in any cooperative institution.
HDC & BM examinations will be conducted by the Central Board of Examinations under the chairmanship of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies constituted by the Government of Kerala. The diploma certificate will be issued by this body.
