Project positions in Deep Ocean Mission Scheme of Ministry of Earth Sciences

Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India; Prithvi Bhawan, Lodi Road, New Delhi -110 003 has notified the engagement of Project Scientist-I (1 position) & Project Scientist-II (1 position) to work under Deep Ocean Mission (DOM) Scheme of the Ministry.

The engagement is purely temporary and on contractual basis. 

Selected candidates would be engaged for a period of one year initially extendable up to the completion of the program, subject to satisfactory performance of work to be reviewed at the end of each year. 

The eligibility for the posts are as follows: 

Project Scientist-II: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent form recognized University with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level. Applicants should have a minimum three years of experience in R&D related to Ocean Technology. Master’s Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university in fields as per Job requirement is desirable. 

Upper age limit will be 40 years.  

Emoluments: Rs. 67,000/- + HRA + other admissible emoluments. 

Project Scientist-I: Master’s Degree in Marine Geology/Marine Sciences/Physical Oceanography or Bachelor degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant subject from recognized University or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level. Ph.D in Science in any of the above-mentioned subjects from a recognized university /institute or Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology from recognized University and Working experience of handling /managing R&D projects are desirable. Upper age limit is 35 years.

Emoluments: Rs. 56,000/- + HRA + other admissible emoluments.

Experience will be counted for the period after completion of essential academic qualifications. A completed Ph.D. degree will be counted as three years of experience. In case a candidate has obtained the Ph.D. degree while in service, only her/his service period will be counted towards experience and she/he will not get any additional weightage in experience for acquiring Ph.D. towards total period of experiences.
