PG Diploma Programs at Tamil Nadu Institute of Archaeology and Museology

Tamil Nadu Institute of Archaeology and Museology, Department of Archaeology, Government of Tamil Nadu, has notified the admission to the Post - Graduate Diploma courses for 2024-26.

Applications are invited for three Two Years Full Time Post-Graduate Diploma courses. 

The courses with eligibility for admission are as follows: (i) Post-Graduate Diploma in Archaeology (20 seats): Any Post-Graduate Degree (ii) Post-Graduate Diploma in Epigraphy (10): A Post - Graduate Degree in Tamil/ Indian History/ History/ Ancient History and Archaeology/ History and Archaeology (iii) Post-Graduate Diploma in Heritage Management and Museology (10): B.E Civil Engineering or any Post - Graduate Degree in Humanities /Social / Chemical/ Physical /Biological /Geo 

Medium of Teaching will be Tamil and English. Those admitted will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 6,000/-. 

Selection: Selection will be based on a Screening test with 100 Multiple Choice Questions and Direct Interview, on the subjects, Tamil Literature, History, Archaeology, Recent Archaeological Excavations (Tamil Nadu and India), Epigraphy, Architecture, Iconography, Numismatics, Museology, Conservation and Preservation of Historical Monuments. 

The Screening test will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on 21.07.2024 (Sunday) at Chennai, Villupuram, Salem, Tiruchirappalli and Madurai.

Filled in application is to be sent along with the copies of the Educational Certificates and Community Certificate to ‘The Principal Secretary and Commissioner (FAC), Department of Archaeology, Tamil Valarchi Valagam, Thamizh Salai, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008', to reach latest by 5 pm on 10.07.2024.
