Part time Foreign Language Courses at EFLU Regional Campus Shillong
The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Regional Campus, Shillong, has invited applications for admissions to the following part-time courses.
French: (i) Certificate of Proficiency (ii) Diploma
German: (i) Certificate of Proficiency (ii) Diploma (iii) Advanced Diploma
Russian: (i) Certificate of Proficiency (ii) Diploma
Course description and eligibility (a) Certificate of Proficiency: This course is designed for beginners where they learn the basic language competencies- written, spoken, reading and oral comprehension. Applicants should have passed Class X/SSLC/SSC or its equivalent recognized by the Government of India. There will be no entrance test for this course (b) Diploma: This is an intermediate course where students learn higher aspects of foreign language. Certificate of Proficiency or an equivalent course is mandatory for admission to this course. Students will have to take an entrance test, if applicable (c) Advanced Diploma: This is an advanced level course where students will learn advanced aspects of language along with literature. Diploma or an equivalent course is mandatory for admission to this course. Students will have to take an entrance test, if applicable.
Those seeking admission to Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are required to take an entrance test. The Entrance Test comprises a written test and viva-voce with equal weightage to both the components. The current students having less than one year gap from the previous relevant course with minimum ‘C’ grade are exempted from the Entrance examination. Admission will be given in only one course.
All courses are of one-year /two-semesters duration. Classes will be held from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm on days to be notified. Intake for each program is 25.

The last date for submission of applications is 12th January 2024 for Diploma and Advanced Diploma Programs and 13th January 2024 for Certificate courses as per the time schedule for various activities related to the admission, given at the link.
