M.Sc Programs in Applied Nutrition and Sports Nutrition at ICMR- NIN Hyderabad

ICMR- National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), Hyderabad, Telangana State - 500 007, affiliated to Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), CSIR- Human Resource Development Centre, (CSIR-HRDC) Campus, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh- 201 002, has invited applications for admission to 2-year M.Sc. (Applied Nutrition) & M.Sc. (Sports Nutrition) Programs for the academic session 2024-26.
The Programs aim to create scientifically trained human resources in the area of Applied Nutrition and Sports Science and to equip them with knowledge and skills in the multi-disciplinary area of Applied Nutrition and Sports Nutrition.
Eligibility: Applicant should have one of the following qualifications: (i) B.Sc with any one of the following subjects as a major discipline in all the 3/4 years or 6/8 Semesters- Applied Nutrition, Applied Nutrition & Public Health, Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics, Exercise Physiology & Nutrition, Food & Nutrition, Food Science & Quality Control, Home Science, Human Nutrition, Nutrition, Nutrition & Dietetics, Nursing, Sports & Exercise Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, Sports Science (ii) MBBS (iii) BDS.
Applicant should possess a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% aggregate marks for OBC/third gender/SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the qualifying examination.
Those who are appearing for the final year/semester examination are also eligible to apply. However, they should submit all the original certificates of the qualifying exams at the time of counselling for admission.
Selection: Selection will be based on the All India-NIN Common Entrance Test (N-CET) & Counseling. The entrance test to be held on 23rd June 2024 (Sunday) at Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, will be computer-based and of 90 minutes duration with 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each, carrying a maximum of 100 marks. Questions will be from (i) Nutrition (50 questions) (ii) Biochemistry (20) (iii) Physiology (20) (iv) General Knowledge and Aptitude (10). The syllabus for the entrance examination is the basic understanding of nutrition, biochemistry and physiology taught at the graduation level, general knowledge & aptitude. One-third (0.33) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
The Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in the N-CET. Reservation policy will be followed for OBC, SC/ST/EWS candidates as per the reservation policy of the Government of India.

Application Fee is Rs. 3000/- (Rs.1500/- for SC/ST/PwD/EWS).
Hall Tickets can be generated online from June 1st week. Results are expected to be declared in the 2nd week of July 2024. The list of eligible candidates for counselling will be displayed in the 3rd week of July 2024. Counselling for admission will be in the 2nd week of August 2024. Classes will commence in the 2nd week of August 2024.
