MD/MS/MDS at JIPMER: Apply by April 23
Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), an Institution of National Importance under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India; Dhanvantri Nagar P.O, Puducherry-605 006, has invited applications for admission to the Post Graduate Medical (MD/MS)/Dental (MDS) Programmes for the July 2020 session. The Programmes are of 3 years duration.
Applicants for the MD/MS course must be an Indian National (IN) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or Foreign Nationals (FN). For MDS Course, applicant must be an Indian National (IN) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)
Educational Qualification: For admission to MD/MS Course, applicant should possess MBBS or an equivalent Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India. For admission to MDS Course, applicant must possess BDS or an equivalent Degree recognized by the Dental Council of India.
Internship: For all Programmes, applicant must complete the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating internship/Practical training on or before 30th June, 2020.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: For Unreserved (UR), Institute (INST), Economic Weaker Section (EWS) and OBC Category 55% marks in aggregate. For those belonging to SC/ST Categories- 50% marks in aggregate.
Application Status: Those who have already done/completed MD/MS/MDS in any subject in any Institution are not eligible for admission to MD/MS/MDS course at JIPMER.
Selection: Selection will be based on an Entrance Examination which will be an online Computer Based Test (CBT) to be held on 16.5.2020 (Saturday) at 12 centres across the country. The test for MD/MS Courses will be from 10 am to 1 pm and that for MDS Course, from 10 am to 11.30 am.
The test for MD/MS will have 250 MCQs and that for MDS, 100 MCQs. Each correct answer carries 4 marks while each incorrect answer will result in loss of 1 mark. The detailed syllabus is available in the Prospectus.
Application: Applications are to be submitted online through the Notification link at www.jipmer.edu.in/whats-new latest by 23 April 2020. Prospectus can also be downloaded from this site. Application fee is Rs.1600/-. For SC/ST, it is Rs.1200/-.OPH applicants are exempted from Application fee can be paid using Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
Hall tickets can be downloaded from 6 May 2020.
Merit Ranking would be based on minimum percentile score which will be as follows: Unreserved (UR)/ EWSs/Inst/OCI/FN/Sponsored-50; UR/EWS-OPH-45 and SC/ST/OBC/OPH-40.

Academic fee will be Rs.2200/- per annum.
