The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), an Institute of National Importance, Hosur Road, Bengaluru, India-560 029, has invited online applications for admissions to the undergraduate courses for the Academic Year 2025-26.
Courses offered and seats are as follows
(i) B.Sc. in Anesthesia Technology - 11 seats (All India Category-4, Karnataka Domicile Category- 7) (ii) B.Sc. in Nursing: 85 (All India – 35; Karnataka Domicile -50) (iii) B.Sc. in Medical Imaging Technology- 11 seats (All India-4, Karnataka Domicile-7) (iv) B.Sc. in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology- 7 seats (All India-2, Karnataka Domicile – 4, Sponsored-1)
Eligibility for admissions
B.Sc. Nursing (4 Years + 1 Year Internship): Passed Pre-University Examination/Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12-years course)/equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum 45% aggregate marks.
B.Sc. in Medical Imaging Technology (3 years + 1-year Internship): Passed Pre-University Examination/Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12-years course)/equivalent with English and Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as optional subjects with 45% aggregate or Job oriented Diploma course from a recognized board with Diagnostic Radiography as vocational subject
B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology (3 years + 1-year Internship): Pass in 2-year pre-university examination or equivalent with a science group having secured an aggregate of 45% in science subjects.
B.Sc. in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology (3 years + 1-year Internship): Pre-Degree/Pre-University/12th standard/equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects and having 45% aggregate in Science subjects
A relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate will be given for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
The age of the applicant should be between 17 and 25 years as of 1.9.2025. Age is relaxable by a maximum of 5 years in the case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates and by a maximum of 3 years for OBC candidates for the courses where the seats are reserved for them only.
Online application forms can be submitted at the UG Admission link https://nimhans.ac.in/ latest by 15.06.2025. One can apply for a maximum of 3 courses only. Multiple online applications are not permitted.
The application fee for the General, OBC, or EWS category is Rs. 1,000/- per course. For the SC or ST category, it is Rs. 750/- per course. Applicants belonging to the PwBD category are exempted from the application fee.
Selection for all 4 B.Sc. courses will be based on a common entrance test of 90 minutes’ duration to be conducted in Bengaluru city only on 27.7.2025. The question paper will contain 100 multiple-choice objective-type questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. For a wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The qualifying percentage in the entrance test will be 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
Eligible candidates for the entrance test will be informed to download the admit card, which should be produced at the time of the entrance test. The result will be announced on 31.07.2025. The provisional selection list for B.Sc. courses will be published on 6.08.2025. Admission will be on 11.8.2025. Classes will commence on 1.9.2025.
