ISI, IIT and IIM invite applications for PGDBA 2026: Apply now

Applications have been invited by ISI Kolkata for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) Jointly offered by ISI, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta.

PGDBA is a two-year full-time residential diploma programme aimed at creating business analytics professionals employable by leading Indian and foreign firms. This programme is designed for those who have an analytical mind-set, are interested in tackling challenging business problems, and possess an inclination towards Mathematics. Some of the salient features of the programme include teaching by reputed faculty members at the campuses of three globally renowned institutes, hands-on business analytics training at a related company, continuous interaction with industry leaders throughout the course of the diploma programme, and the availability of placement opportunities at all the three institutes jointly offering this programme.

PGDBA participants will visit the three organizing institutions – Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta – spending about six months at each institute. Each of the three institutes will focus on a separate area of Business Analytics, in accordance with its expertise and competence. While coursework at ISI will focus on statistical and machine learning theories for analytics, faculty at IIT Kharagpur will engage with the technology aspects of analytics, and IIM Calcutta will bring to the table its expertise on the application of analytics in functional areas of management.

Programme Calendar: Orientation Module (06 – 08 July 2026) and Pre-Semester Module (09 July – 13 August 2026) will be held at IIM Calcutta. Semester I – ISI (17 August – 29 December 2026); Semester II -IIT Khagrapur (02 January - 30 April 2027); Semester III - IIM Calcutta (03 May – 01 October 2027) and Semester IV - Industry Internship (October 2027 - April 2028).

Eligibility: Applicant must hold a Graduate/ Post graduate degree with 10 + 2 + 4/10 + 2 + 5/10 + 2 + 3 + 2, with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (iB.Tech./ B.E./ M.Sc./ M.Com. or equivalent). Those with 10 + 3 (Engineering diploma) + 3 (lateral entry into B.E./ B.Tech.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (B.Tech./ B.E.), or with 10 + 2 + 4 (B.Sc.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (B.Sc.), or with qualified CA/CS/ICWA/CMA with at least 60% marks (Intermediate and Final examinations of the CA/CS/ICWA/CMA considered together) are also eligible. For SC/ST and Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.

Those who are in the final year of the qualifying course, are also eligible to apply provided they appear in the final examination and complete other academic requirements as specified above by 30th June 2026. For such cases, admission will be provisional subject to submission of final mark sheet by 30th November 2026. In case of a foreign degree, the equivalence of the foreign degree needs to be certified by the Association of Indian Universities.

Selection: The first stage of the selection process is PGDBA Admission Test 2026. The test of 3 hours’ duration to be held on 29 March 2026 (Sunday), will have 50 Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) from Verbal Ability (15 questions); Logical Reasoning (5); Data Interpretation and Data Visualization (5) and Quantitative Aptitude (25). Candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview based on their score in the PGDBA Admission Test 2026. For woman and transgender candidates, additional 2 marks will be awarded as gender diversity score for this shortlisting. This additional marks will not be considered for the final selection.

Final Selection to PGDBA Program will be based on different components and their weightage as follows: (i) PGDBA 2026 Admission Test Score-45 (ii) Personal Interview (PI)- 40 (iii) Points for Class XII marks – 08 (iv) Work experience -07 (Total- 100).
