IIST invites applications for 2025 B.Tech admissions in Aerospace, Avionics and Data Science: Apply now

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has invited applications for admission to the undergraduate programs offered at the institute for 2025-26.

The Programs are (i) B. Tech. in Aerospace Engineering, (ii) B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics)(iii) B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) (New UG program commencing in August 2025) (iv) Dual Degree (B.Tech in Engineering Physics + Master of Science/M.Tech.).

Master of Science will be in (i) Astronomy and Astrophysics or (ii) Solid State Physics. M. Tech will be in (i) Earth System Science or (ii) Optical Engineering.

There are 75 seats each for B. Tech. in Aerospace Engineering and B. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics); 36 seats for B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science); and 24 seats for Dual Degree (B. Tech. in Engineering Physics + Master of Science/M. Tech.). Reservation of seats will be as per rules.

Eligibility: Indian citizens and OCI/PIO card holders are eligible to apply.

Those belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories must have been born on or after October 1, 2000. Those belonging to SC/ST and PD categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1995.

Applicant must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII/equivalent board examination (65% aggregate for SC, ST, and PD candidates). The marks scored in physics, chemistry, mathematics, a language, or any subject other than the above four will be considered.

Applicants should have appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)-2025 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to qualify themselves to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced)-2025 conducted by IITs and should have secured the minimum prescribed percentage marks in JEE Advanced 2025, as follows in it: (i) General - At least 20% marks in aggregate and at least 5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) (ii) EWS/OBC-NCLAt least 18% marks in aggregate and at least 4.5% marks in each of the three subjects (iii) SC/ST/PD - At least 10% marks in aggregate and at least 2.5% marks in each of the three subjects.

Minimum Marks Requirement in JEE (Advanced)–2025 The exam is as follows: (I) General – 6 marks each in physics, chemistry, and mathematics and 72 marks in aggregate. (II) EWS/OBC-NCL- 5 marks in each of physics, chemistry, and mathematics and 65 marks in aggregate. (iii) SC/ST/PD—3 marks in each of physics, chemistry, and mathematics and 36 marks in aggregate.

Application: Application along with branch preferences can be submitted online at https://admission.iist.ac.in/ latest by 23:59 hrs on 9.06.2025.

Registration Fee: The registration fee is Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for female candidates and SC/ST/PD candidates). The amount can be paid online.

The IIST Admission Rank List will be published at 17:00 hrs on 11.6.2025. Modification of branch preferences can be made till 17:00 hrs on 12.6.2025. Seat Allotment/Acceptance rounds is scheduled to start on 13.6.2025 and will continue up to 3.7.2025.

Online Spot Admissions Notification, if required in case of vacancies, will be released at 14:00 Hrs on 4.7.2025. Online Spot Admissions Registration, if required (applicable only for remaining waitlisted candidates after the last round of seat allotment), will be from 09:00 Hrs on 5.7.2025, to 23:59 Hrs on 9.07.2025.

Online spot admissions, if required (applicable only for remaining wait-listed candidates after last round of seat allotment), will be done from 10.7.2025 to 18.7.2025.

Admission will be closed on 21.7.2025.

Those allotted seats have to report for joining IIST at 10:00 Hrs on 21.7.2025. Induction Programme at IIST will be conducted during July 21, 2025 to August 01, 2025.

Classes commence on 4.08.2025.
