Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), India's premier institution for advanced research in fundamental sciences has invited applications for Graduate School (GS) Admissions for 2024.
TIFR, an autonomous Research Institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and a ‘Deemed-to-be University’ recognized by the University Grants Commission, offers PhD and Integrated MSc-PhD programs in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science & Learning, Information and Data Science, Science Education and MSc program in Wildlife Biology and Conservation.

Entrance examination: Entrance examination being conducted as part of the selection process for admission will be held on 10th December, 2023 (Sunday) in 2 sessions. Examinations for Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science & Learning, Information and Data Science and MSc (Wildlife Biology & Conservation) will be held in the Morning Session from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The examinations for Mathematics & Science Education will be held in the Afternoon Session from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m and that for Biology (Joint Graduate Entrance Examinations for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences -JGEEBILS), from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Application: Online application can be submitted at https://www.tifr.res.in/ latest by 12 noon on 2nd November, 2023 (Academics > Admissions). Applicants would be able to download Hall tickets from 20th November, 2023.
There is no condition of age limit or percentage cut-off for UG or PG academic scores. One can register for two subjects provided the timings of the test of desired subjects do not clash. In such cases, two registrations will have to be done and separate application fee paid.
Application fee: Application Fee for Male Candidates is Rs 1000/- and that for female Candidates and others is Rs 500/-. Application fee can be paid online through Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI or other modes as available on the payment gateway.
Program will start on 1st August, 2024.
